Advantech’s Releases New Intel Atom-based Computer on Module

Advantech’s new SOM-6761 CPU module is only 95 x 95 mm and is powered by the Intel Atom N270 processor. The low power rating of the Atom architecture consumes only 11 Watts of power, yet offers full I/O functionality and an integrated graphic engine with multiple display support.

SOM-6761 works smart to improve reliability of applications through “Smart & Secure” features that monitor CMOS battery voltage and system fan temperatures to prevent overheating.

The SOM-6761 is suitable for low power, small portable devices and applications. Both CMOS battery voltage detection and smart system fan control to prevent overheating and better manage system status can be implemented via Advantech’s Secure & Unified Smart Interface (SUSI) API suite.

In addition, SOM-6761 with Intel Atom N270 processor supports Speed Step voltage and frequency functions to reduce workload and throttling, which lowers power use. The 945GSE chipset with integrated Intel GMA950 graphic engine and Microsoft DirectX 9.1 supports multiple displays consisting of: VGA, 36-bit LVDS, SDVO, and TV-out.
