The Aerospace & Defense PLM Action Group (AD PAG) has issued a new report, A&D PLM Action Group Model-Based Systems Engineering Research Report of Findings: General Availability Edition.

The report shares results of a collaborative research effort conducted by CIMdata on behalf of the Aerospace & Defense PLM Action Group (AD PAG) with multiple PLM solution providers. The main goal was to understand better industry needs and strategic opportunities related to Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE). The participating solution providers were Ansys, PTC, Siemens Digital Industries Software, and The Reuse Company.

The report identifies key discoveries, visual presentation of industry responses, and a comparison of results from the perspective of domain experts. The analysis identifies differences, offering summary observations that provide an objective assessment of industry progress in MBSE.

“After decades of steady progress, we are experiencing a generational step forward in systems engineering and MBSE enabled by technological advances and driven by multilayered competitive necessity," says James Roche, CIMdata’s Aerospace & Defense practice director. "CIMdata conducted research into current realities and trends within this rapidly evolving value landscape. Insights from this industry-provider collaboration have influenced the solution provider sponsors' solution strategies and the industry sponsors' implementation roadmaps.”
