ALGOR, Inc. (Pittsburgh, PA) will demonstrate new ALGOR V21.1 and PipePak V10.2 software at the 40th annual Offshore Technology Conference 2008 (OTC.08) being held in early May in Texas.

As one of nearly 2,400 exhibiting companies from around the globe, ALGOR will show how its finite element analysis (FEA) software can help companies virtually test and predict real-world behavior of new and existing product designs, speed up time to market, and make safer products at a lower cost.

ALGOR FEA features an easy-to-use single user interface, FEMPRO, which provides direct CAD/CAE data exchange and full associativity with most CAD solid modelers. This allows engineers to simply choose the analysis tools they need, giving them access to ALGOR's wide range of simulation capabilities including static stress and Mechanical Event Simulation (MES) with linear and nonlinear material models; linear dynamics; fatigue; CFD including steady-state and transient heat transfer, steady and unsteady fluid flow, and mass transfer; electrostatics; full multiphysics; and piping.

ALGOR's latest FEA software, V21.1, features direct CAD/CAE data exchange for SpaceClaim including full associativity with each design change; a new industry-standard eigensolver for nonlinear analysis; Ogden and Mooney-Rivlin hyperelastic and viscoelastic material models for shell elements; the capability to save and re-use user-defined report templates; and new results evaluation capabilities such as viewing plasticity results for shell elements, displaying results for additional load combinations, and drawing a vector through a part and plotting temperature versus distance.

ALGOR's latest piping design and analysis software, PipePak V10.2, features the capability to save and read load cases to/from files; the ability to divide pipes from the tree view; updates for the latest ASME standards and European Standard EN 13480-3:2002; an updated User's Guide; and improved reporting capabilities.
