AMAX has announced the new StorMax-X1 scalable NAS storage solution. The StorMax-X1 is designed for multi-petabyte rich media and content sharing platforms.

StorMax-X1 provides a petabyte of raw capacity in a single, floor-tile sized footprint, and is capable of additional capacity without disruption to create massive storage pools. The NAS storage solution delivers linear scalability, scaling to hundreds of petabytes by adding new nodes, according to the company. By using a high-density JBOD storage, the StorMax-X1 is expandable up to 516 hot-swappable 3.5-in. SATA or SAS HDD/SSD drives per 42U standard rack cabinet.
