Ansys recently premiered a 20-min documentary titled "Simulating Space," highlighting its software's role in the race to deploy satellites.
"The space industry is undergoing unprecedented transformation, characterized by a surge in commercial space flight, satellite growth and ambitious national space programs," according to Ansys.
The film addresses one key challenge in the space sector -- the appetite for more satellites, and the insufficient number of rocket launches to satisfy it. Analyst firm McKinsey & Company predicted global space economy would reach $1.8 trillion by 2035, up from $630 billion in 2023.
Christian Keil, VP of Astranis, said, "There are billions of people who are still not connected to the Internet. If people are not connected, the legacy solutions are not going to work for them. That's where satellite comes in. It's a way to connect people, wherever they are."
"There's a huge demand to get satellites up, off the ground and into Space, but we do not have enough rockets to get them there," noted Jacqualine Sotraidis Schell, Reality Space.
Jason Soloff, a Star Trek fan since childhood and Chief Engineer for Luna Data Network, Intuitive Machines, described simulation as "a force multiplier." He added, "It lets us try different ideas in a computer, on a model, and try a bunch of ideas very quickly."
Similarly, Ryan Kraft, Vehicle Engineering, Relativity Space, said, "Ansys is a key partner for us because of the breadth of the tools it offers in one standard platform."
Along with the documentary, Ansys has also launched a dedicated page for aerospace clients.
