Aras has forged a technology partnership with Actify, Inc. in order to embed SpinFire visualization products in every download of the PLM software suite from Aras. The move is intended to deliver seamless 3D and 2D file translation, publishing, and distribution.

Actify's SpinFire technology is designed to enable access, communication, distribution, and re-use of numerous 3D and 2D CAD file formats throughout the enterprise and global supply chain.  SpinFire enables collaboration on major CAD formats including CATIA, SolidWorks, Inventor, AutoCAD, NX, Solid Edge, and more. With the partnership, every download of the PLM software solution from Aras will include Actify's SpinFire for CAD viewing with additional capabilities available as an upgrade.

"Companies that use product lifecycle management software need to be able to view the CAD files, and making the SpinFire CAD viewing software available in Aras expands our capabilities to everyone that wants to access 3D models and 2D drawings," says Peter Schroer, president of Aras.

"Embedding SpinFire in Aras provides companies with an immediate way to streamline processes where secure access to viewing CAD files is necessary such as collaborating on product designs with international suppliers and outsourced manufacturers," says David Opsahl, CEO of Actify.
