Aras Updates Component Engineering

By DE Editors

September 11, 2015

Aras, a provider of PLM (product lifecycle management) software, has updated Aras Component Engineering. The software lets users access electronic component data from the IHS CAPS Universe and integrate it into the Aras Innovator workflow.

Updates let engineers view environmental compliance documentation, certificates of conflict mineral compliance, product change notes, end of life data and lifecycle prediction.

The company has also updated its search application to be available anytime, anywhere. The app lets users search for new components, view properties and data sheets and initiate new part approval requests.

“Integrating industry-leading data from IHS CAPS Universe into Aras Component Engineering allows engineers to quickly find the parts they need, determine availability, mitigate obsolescence risk, and ensure environmental compliance from within a single PLM environment. This powerful capability improves engineering productivity and helps companies bring innovative products to market faster,” says Bob Braasch, senior director, IHS Technology.
