BOXX Technologies debuted its new 3DBOXX 4920 XTREME workstation for Autodesk Revit, SolidWorks, and other frequency bound software applications, at the Autodesk University 2011 conference and exhibition.

The liquid-cooled 4920 XTREME features a second generation, six core, 12-thread Intel Core i7 processor, performance enhanced to reach speeds of up to 4.5 GHz. SSD caching provides increased storage performance and faster access to media files, while additional DIMM sockets for quad channel DDR3 SDRAM deliver faster memory performance. According to the company, the 4920 XTREME delivers 50% more processing power for tasks like CPU-based rendering and simulation analysis.

In addition to the 4920 XT debut, BOXX also demonstrated the upcoming "GPU-BOXX," PCoIP remote desktop computing, and 3DBOXX 4880 XTREME, a performance-enhanced quad GPU workstation.
