Canon U.S.A.,Inc. (Boston, MA)announced a large-format, 36-in. printer suited for multiuser, networkedworkgroups. The imagePROGRAF iPF720 is designed for printing MCAD, GIS, and AECdocuments, and can be used anywhere large technical printing is needed.

TheimagePROGRAF iPF720 printer, positioned as the flagship model in the company'sfive-color large-format printer family, targets the technical document market,and incorporates a built-in 80GB hard drive suited for medium to large workgroupusers who need to print large files or sets of files from multipleworkstations.

The iPF720 printer not only accommodates multiple users who areaccustomed to using hard-disk equipped workgroup printers, but will print anA0-sized full-density color plot (33.1 x 46.8 inches) at 1200dpi in 55 seconds.It will do that with a 0.02mm minimum line width at ±0.1 percent line accuracyon a printing area with 3mm margins from roll-feed paper.

The iPF720 printer,with a footprint of less than 60 in. wide, supports HP-GL/2 and HP-RTL pagedescription languages to ensure compatibility with any technical documentapplications. The printer comes with the AutoCAD imagePROGRAF HDI Driver(Windows only) and imagePROGRAF Printer Driver compatible with both Windows andMacintosh. The printer driver includes such features as Free Layout.
