The four main areas covered in GES will be mechanical design and simulation, development and testing of embedded systems, product lifecycle management and technical publication.
According to a company press release, this offering is to address the increase in digital technology and cloud-focused environments. GES says it intends to create synergies between organizations’ IT and engineering systems to better integrate and optimize operations. It also plans to focus on organizations specifically within the transportation sector, including the aerospace, automotive and energy industries.
"Engineering and manufacturing organizations around the world are increasingly under pressure to do it all — develop and launch new products faster than the competition, keep costs low, maintain stringent quality standards and continually meet demands for enhanced innovation," said Girish Wardadkar, GES Leader at Capgemini. "Together, Sogeti and Capgemini will provide a global breadth of technical expertise and deep industry knowledge in engineering, helping to better support implementation of engineering engagements across every stage of the product lifecycle creating ultimate efficiency and optimization."
