CD-adapco, a provider of CAE software focused on computational fluid dynamics, has revealed SPEED Suite v10.02. This released of the electronic machine design tool is now available on the Steve Portal.

Improvements in this version include tighter integration with the STAR-CMM+ platform, automation advances and changes in the Winding Editor. xGDF export file information has also been updated. Overall, version 10.02 brings 50 new features, the company states.

“Our customers will immediately realize the benefits offered in SPEED Suite v10.02,” said Markus Anders, manager, Electrical Machine Sector, CD-adapco. “The main impact offered by the SPEED v10.02 release is the use of STAR-CCM+ as an alternative to PC-FEA for automatic 2D analysis through the implemented GoFERs. The STAR-CCM+ GoFERs allow for user alterations to the standard SPEED geometry templates using the built-in CAD designer in STAR-CCM+ resulting in improved accuracy of the model. Import of 3D models into STAR-CCM+ for thermal calculations has also been enhanced through the SPEED Motor Tool Wizard in STAR-CCM+.”
