Creaform has unveiled its new line-up of MetraSCAN 3D optical CMM scanners for quality control and reverse engineering applications. Featuring Creaform's TRUaccuracy technology, the scanners ensure highly-accurate dimensional surface measurements, regardless of the measurement environment (instability, vibrations, thermal variations, etc.) or operator skills.

The combination of a MetraSCAN 3D CMM scanner and a HandyPROBE arm-free CMM creates a complete measurement system for points and surfaces, and enables geometrical and freeform inspection on the same part, with the same system.

The new MetraSCAN 3D handheld scanners are now offered in two versions. The MetraSCAN 70 offers optimal resolution. It is ideal for projects where geometrical feature definition is key, such as sheet metal and tooling inspection. The MetraSCAN 210 offers increased measurement speed. Its increased stand-off and depth of field make for enhanced scanning flexibility. It is ideal for large surface metrology and large-scale reverse engineering.
