Dassault Acquires FE-DESIGN

Acquisition will expand SIMULIA application suite.

Dassault Systems has acquired Germany-based FE-DESIGN group. According to Dassault, the acquisition expands its SIMULIA applications to provide improved design optimization. With more than 200 global product manufacturer customers, including General Motors, BMW, SIEMENS, and Suzlon, FE-DESIGN provides non-parametric optimization solutions in both the structural and fluids-based domains. The amount of the transaction, which was completed on April 23, 2013, was not disclosed.
