Dassault Systèmes revealed its newest brand BIOVIA for biological, chemical and material modeling, simulation and product lifecycle management (PLM).

BIOVIA provides enterprise-wide scientific experiences with next-generation applications, services and content, the company says. It believes the application will act as a catalyst to provide virtual scientific universes. The announcement of this platform follows Dassault's acquisition of Accelerys.

By integrating Accelrys application suite into 3DEXPERIENCE, users can access  systemic collaboration, project management, content reuse, traceability and scientific industry integrations. It also allows for streamlining data access and reporting across the enterprise as well as electronic data capture.

Some of BIOVIA's customers include Sanofi, Pfizer, AstraZeneca, Du Pong, L'Oreal and Unilever. The company also reports that Boeing, Toyota, Samsung and more are using BIOVIA  to produce new materials, such as smart coatings, stronger composites and sustainable materials.

“Our ambition is to provide industry and science the apps necessary to model the biosphere. BIOVIA brings an enterprise-wide, systemic collaborative approach to enable innovation for pharmaceutical, CPG and other process-based industries,” said Max Carnecchia, CEO, BIOVIA, Dassault Systèmes. “The sophisticated enterprise system of modeling, simulation, and laboratory and quality management enables innovation for almost every industry.”
