Dassault Systèmes, a provider of 3D design software, has launched its latest industry solution for aerospace and defense. "Build to Operate" is designed to help OEMs (original equipment manufacturers) and suppliers increase the quality and efficiency of their programs with the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, the company states.

With "Build to Operate," users can monitor, control and validate all aspects of manufacturing operations — from replicable processes and production sequences to the flow of deliverables in the supply chain.

The solution offers closed-loop visibility, global deployment of lean manufacturing processes, access to real-time KPIs and real-time traceability for supplier data.

“We adopted Dassault Systèmes’ ‘Build to Operate’ industry solution experience to improve manufacturing execution for our existing and future helicopters programs,” said Jean-Luc Sturlèse, vice president, Production Flows Management, Airbus Helicopters.  “By tightly unifying engineering with our change management process, and by implementing lean processes like just-in-time processing and paperless manufacturing, we aim to improve quality and accelerate production while lowering program costs.”
