Corel Corporation(Ottawa, Canada) has introduced the latest version of its technicalgraphics product line, Corel DESIGNER Professional 12. Built on thepower of Corel DESIGNER Technical Suite 12, DESIGNER Professional 12offers native 3D import capabilities from Spatial Corp. (Westminster, CO) to support leading CAD/CAM formats including IGES, ProE, SAT, CATIA 4, and CATIA 5.

Corel DESIGNER Professional 12 is designed for technical illustratorswho need to import specialized 3D CAD files for creating 2D vector andbitmap drawings. According to a press release, the suite has filecompatibility with more than 75 import and export filters includingCGM, PDF, EPS, JPG, TIF, and SVG. Corel says it hopes to make technicalillustrators more productive by bridging the file transfer gap betweenengineering and documentation often found in a typical technicalillustration environment.

In addition to the new 3D import capabilities, the suite includes CorelDESIGNER 12 for precise technical illustration and layout; CorelPHOTO-PAINT 12 for professional image editing; CorelTRACE 12 to convertbitmaps and legacy paper documents into vector graphics; and CorelCAPTURE 12 to create screen captures.
