EastCoast CAD/CAM announced the release of version 6 of the entire suite of Design to Fabrication software with full compatibility with Autodesk Release 2014 software. Some of the major enhancements in EastCoast's Design to Fabrication software include bar code tracking for DuctMaker, expanded duct AutoTag profiles, roller hangers for steam pipe, improved metric support, and more customer-requested piping content, the company says.

Fabrication for AutoCAD MEP and MEP Design to Fabrication for Revit work within the 2014 versions of the Autodesk software. Design to Fabrication has added targeted tools for the MEP contractor to the Autodesk software system to cut down on the time it takes to detail jobs.

DuctMaker CAM fabrication software now generates and manages bar codes on ticket labels to track the location and status of fittings within a particular job, using wireless scanners. For fabrication for AutoCAD MEP sheet metal, the solution includes improvements to tags and schedules, including new AutoTag profiles, layer key style support for MvParts, and an additional duct hanger set up option.

For piping customers, roller hangers for steam pipe and flex hose are now available, as well as additional pipe content for multiple manufacturers. As manufacturers come out with new parts, new additions to piping content are regularly provided by EastCoast CAD/CAM to subscription customers, at no extra charge.

Within MEP Design to Fabrication for Revit, oval out-of-the-box defaults and free catalogs have been provided, and pipe and duct fabrication preferences have additional mapping options.
