Maplesoft introduces a new release of MapleMBSE software to enable the use of model-based systems engineering (MBSE) without requiring all project stakeholders to directly access the model.

Maplesoft says MapleMBSE uses a Microsoft Excel-based workflow to enable optimized, task-specific views for editing the systems model. MapleMBSE also keeps the central model updated for use by all team members. Because MapleMBSE eliminates the need to funnel all MBSE tasks through a small number of systems engineering experts, the MBSE-based workflow becomes a more democratized process. Maplesoft says this approach also reduces the overhead, time and errors that can arise when every stakeholder is required to use the primary MBSE tool.

MapleMBSE supports several MBSE platforms, including IBM Engineering Systems Design Rhapsody and No Magic Cameo Systems Modeler. New in this release is support for Eclipse Foundation’s Capella.

This release introduces a revision browser to view comments and changes made to the systems model by others. Also new with this release is predicate filtering, allowing for automated access to review model details.

The company says the addition of matrices in this release improves managing project traceability and realizations. For all users, Maplesoft says this update also adds predicate filtering in model queries, another way to review model details for accuracy.

MapleMBSE 2020.2 is now available directly from Maplesoft.
