Engineering.com Inc.(Toronto, Ontario) has released Collaboration Suite 2006 R2, the latestversion of its hosted engineering collaboration solution formanufacturers. New functionality includes customizable quotation formsthat allow remote sales offices to capture specification data forengineering teams.

Collaboration Suite creates automatic notifications and then initiatesand tracks the engineering quotation process. Also new is the abilityto track time and materials consumed in responding to those quotations.According to engineering.com, the result is an integrated sales andengineering solution that fits with the existing supplier managementfunctions to create a business environment for engineering-to-orderbusinesses.

This new functionality has been added to the existing core ofCollaboration Suite, which includes online project management,lightweight CAD model viewing, document management, web-conferencing,and supplier management, says Engineering.com. These features aredesigned to allow companies using Collaboration Suite to manage theirproduct introductions and redesigns across distributed design andmanufacturing teams.
