EOS to Participate in Emerging Technology Center at IMTS

EOS will join a group of other companies in presenting and discussing recent industrial advances and achievements at the International Manufacturing Technology Show’s Emerging Technology Center (ETC). IMTS 2010 takes place Sept. 13-18 in Chicago.

The theme for the 2010 ETC is “Knowledge-Based,” which applies to manufacturing, people and technology. The center, located in the North Building Lobby (Booth N-650) of McCormick Place, is being presented by the Association for Manufacturing Technology (IMTS’ parent organization) in partnership with the Society for Manufacturing Engineers (SME).

“Our inclusion in the ETC shows how far EOS has brought the technology in terms of product durability and quality, and how close additive manufacturing—laser-sintering in particular—is to joining traditional processes as a mainstream manufacturing technology,” says Andy Snow, EOS regional sales director, North America.

Attendees can also visit EOS at South Booth #8754, where it will be co-exhibiting with AgieCharmilles GF. Recently the two companies announced development of a joint process chain for toolmaking that combines AgieCharmilles’ machining capabilities with EOS’ additive manufacturing process for creating molds with optimized, conformal cooling channels.
