ESTECO Unveils modeFRONTIER 2014

By DE Editors

October 20, 2014

ESTECO SpA has shipped the new modeFRONTIER software. The platform now has three new direct integration nodes, enhanced RSM(response surface methodology) training and a multi-strategy user-oriented optimization algorithm.

The multi-purpose self-adapting algorithm, titled pilOPT, offers a "one-click" optimization experience. It only requires the configuration of only one parameter and achieves coverage of the Pareto front in minimal time.

Powell's method has been added to the optimization portfolio as an alternative to gradient-based algorithms. This method requires less computational effort and is useful for calculating the local minimum of continuous complex functions.

The stepwise RSM algorithm provides an automatic procedure for selecting the polynomial regression model with the optimal number of combination of predictor terms. The resulting polynomial is accurate and requires little effort on behalf of the user when training and testing the fitness of different candidate models.

Also added is a new DOE (design of experiments) designer node, which generates DOE configurations at runtime, allowing expanded coverage of the design space and the ability to focus on precise regions for fine-tuning of the exploration phase.
