FARO Technologies, Inc. celebrates 30 years in 2011. The company celebrated this milestone by having one of its customers, Paul Jr. Designs, build a custom FARO-themed chopper. FARO’s motorcycle build was featured on Discovery Channel’s American Chopper: Senior vs. Junior this week and next week.

Like with most custom choppers created by Paul Jr. Designs, the FaroArm was used during the fabrication of the 30th anniversary bike. Elements with intricate shapes, such as the gas tank, seat pan and primary cover can be difficult to capture or re-create by hand. With the FaroArm customers are able to digitize the shape and placement of components. The data collected with the arm can be immediately imported to the CNC machine or water-jet cutter.

Watch the fabrication and unveiling of the new FARO custom chopper and get a sneak preview of the next generation FaroArm that will be showcased during this two-part episode of American Chopper: Senior vs. Junior, which premiered January 17 and continues on January 24, 2011.
