Forecast 3D to Reveal Race Car at RAPID 2015

To build the car parts, Forecast used SLA (stereolithography), Fortus FDM (Fused Deposition Modeling), DMLS (direct metal laser sintering), ProCAST and CNC (computer numerically controlled) machining. After production, the parts were tested during the season of NASA'S American Iron race series.

By prototyping some parts, the company states, it was able to get parts quickly and inexpensively in thermoset production plastics that had a variety of properties.

Motorsports has always been a hobby of mine, so to be involved on a project of this scale and to see what can be done with Additive and ProCAST RTV in the custom and race car building business … to say it’s exciting is a gross understatement.
