Geometric announced the latest version of its automated manufacturability validation tool, DFMPro for PTC Creo Parametric.

For milling and drilling operations, a part with wrongly designed features could lead to tool or tool holder clash. This could lead to machine downtime and rework, which translates in to financial losses, the company says. The Geometric solution enables a novel check to avoid such issues by providing feedback to the designer while designing parts in PTC Creo Parametric. Additionally, new checks for validating designs for ease and longevity of welding are included.

The solution also includes methods for executing automated manufacturability checks in various manufacturing processes like injection molding, sheet metal, machining, castings and assembly.
