Hexagon has entered into an agreement to acquire all outstanding shares of MicroSurvey Software, a leading Canadian-based developer of surveying and mapping software for the land surveying, construction, and forensic markets.

Headquartered in Kelowna, British Columbia, MicroSurvey currently employs 30 people.

The acquisition of MicroSurvey notably expands Hexagons product offerings and software development capabilities for several of our key markets including land surveying, construction and public safety. said Ola Rollen, CEO and president of Hexagon. Additionally, both MicroSurveys software products and Hexagons instrument products enjoy strong leadership positions in these markets."

Excluding inter-company sales, MicroSurvey's turnover in 2010 amounted to approximately 2 million EUR.
