July 20, 2015

Hexagon Metrology has released PC-DMIS 2015, the latest version of the software for collection, evaluation and management of measurement data. The package is for Hexagon's measurement devices as well as other industry equipment.

Version 2015, the company states, has improvements for the inspection of point cloud data captured during scanning. Updates have also been made to tools, workflow capabilities and overall user experience. The platform now includes a redesigned execution timer that enables more accurate and partial execution.

Point cloud tools now have simulation for scan stripes of DCC CMMs (coordinate measuring machines). Meshing capabilities now account for real-time data meshing during scanning, and PC-DIMS 2015 has a new cross-section tool which directly creates deviation annotations in the graphics display.

“PC-DMIS 2015 continues the measurable trends toward improved workflow and the user experience," says Ken Woodbine, president of the Hexagon Metrology software division. “This release marks another significant step forward, with even more valuable enhancements that contribute to overall workflow improvements across all areas of the product.”
