HP Announces Ultrabooks; Updates Graphics Software

HP has introduced the Ultrabook workstations and its next-generation virtual workstation. The company has also added enhancements to its Remote Graphics Software.

The HP ZBook 14 and 15U Workstation Ultrabooks offer professional 3D graphics and high-performance storage, the company states. Both are equipped with Windows 8.1, fifth-generation Intel Core processors and AMD FirePro GPUs (graphics processing units). The ZBook 14 has the option for a touch display. These systems also offer a variety of certified applications from Adobe, Autodesk, Dassault, SolidWorks, Siemens and more.

The HP DL280z Virtual Workstation has a 2U rack mount, Intel E5 v3 processors, up to 1.5TB memory and can operate with Windows or Linux. It offers Citrix and VMWare virtualized environments, supporting centrally-controlled deployment and management for user profiles.

In addition to releasing new workstations, HP also updated its Remote Graphics Software. This version includes a 60% boost in performance to the software. It is now compatible with higher resolution displays and allows Wacom tablet redirection to Linux.
