HP Updates Virtual Workstation

HP Remote Graphics Software (RGS) 7.0 enables real-time collaboration between multiple users simultaneously. By turning swipes into hot keys, gestures into control keys and pinches into zooms—along with a precision onscreen mouse that uses the entire screen as a track pad—the company says HP RGS 7.0 increases productivity for remote users of touch PCs or Windows 8 tablets, including the new HP ElitePad 1000.

HP Z Turbo Drive is a PCIe-based SSD (Solid State Drive) for desktop workstations, that the company says can reduce boot up, calculation and graphics response times.

The company also announced two new HP DreamColor Displays. The HP Z27x and Z24x displays for PCs and Macs feature HP's second-generation DreamColor Engine and provide up to 1.07 billion on-screen colors.

Compared to the previous-generation product, the new displays include up to 60% more pixels, contain up to a 4,000% increase in the internal color palette and are up to 57% thinner.

The HP Z24x features HP's hostless integrated calibration engine with built-in support for third-party professional color measurement instruments. It also includes Ethernet-based remote management with an integrated Web server that provides control of the display. A published software development kit (SDK) allows customers to fully integrate the HP Z27x into their color workflows.

The HP Z27x includes an ultrawide Digital Cinema color gamut with 100% of sRGB, 100% of AdobeRGB and 99% of DCI-P3. It also includes the HP Night Vision interface with auto-fade button backlights and selectable red button backlight color for better low-light viewing in darkened working conditions.
