Novatek's iCAD Professional for iPad enables users to view CAD and 3D models using advanced viewing tools and an intuitive user interface. iCAD is ideal for engineers, designers, manufacturing, quality control, 3D animators, sales and management. The app comes in two flavors: a free version that only allows access to included sample files, and a professional edition will full access to all available features.

Features include solid clipping planes, standard orthographic views, the ability to change center of rotation, sharing models and screenshots via e-mail, and FTP server downloads.

Users can customize background gradient colors, diffuse and ambient lighting, and display an onscreen frame-per-second counter.

The solution supports a number of 3D formats, including IPV (iCAD proprietary format), OBJ (Wavefront), IV (Inventor), DAE (Collada), STL (Stereolithography, binary and ascii), 3DS (3D Studio binary), ASC (3D Studio ASCII), ZIP (All formats zipped)
