IMSI/Design is releasing Version 2 of its free DoubleCAD XT application.

"In just under a year, DoubleCAD XT is now the most popular free CAD application on Download.com, the Internet's most comprehensive source for free software downloads," says Royal Farros, CEO of IMSI/Design. "AutoCAD LT users are excited to finally have a free, industrial-strength alternative in DoubleCAD XT."

Awarded CNET's review editors' highest 5-star rating, DoubleCAD XT v2 includes new viewports that may be exploded to create flat 2D geometry (including hidden line views), multitext and text tool enhancements; new architectural, transform, and selection tools; support for index colors and AutoCAD CTB print styles; and greater AutoCAD usability.

DoubleCAD XT users get to use the features found in DoubleCAD XT Pro v2 for 30 days at no charge or obligation.
