Intergraph has released SmartPlant P&ID 2014, the latest version of its engineering solution for creating, maintaining and improving plant configurations. SmartPlant P&ID 2014 features new ducting and instrumentation diagram functionality, and the solution scope has been extended with enhancements to more efficiently support work processes for project execution and plant operations, and lower the cost of ownership, the company says.
The new ducting and instrumentation diagram (D&ID) capability lets users create a schematic representation for air handling or process systems. SmartPlant P&ID configures the ducting system with the connectivity, components and instruments that can next be used in downstream tasks like SmartPlant Electrical and SmartPlant Instrumentation and ultimately the physical design in Intergraph Smart 3D.
"SmartPlant P&ID is a key component of Intergraph's SmartPlant Enterprise, and its new D&ID capabilities, plus numerous enhancements now available in the 2014 version, provide Intergraph clients with an intelligent design solution to execute projects more efficiently and with lower risks," said Patrick Holcomb, Intergraph Process, Power & Marine's executive vice president of global business development and marketing.
