INUS Technology’s Rapidform XOR has begun shipping to customers. It combines 3D scan data processing and parametric solid modeling to give users the ability to create CAD models from point clouds and polygon meshes.  It creates native CAD models from scan data for SolidWorks, Pro/ENGINEER, Siemens NX, CATIA V4/V5 and AutoCAD.

XOR makes CAD features with parent-child relationships, according to the company, not just parametric surfaces.

With this new release, INUS says XOR offers more than 350 upgrades. New features in Rapidform XOR3 include:

  • Modeling wizards
  • Streamlined liveTransfer, XOR’s CAD interoperability technology
  • A new automatic surfacing algorithm that generates CAD-ready NURBS surfaces from polygon meshes
  • A new point cloud processing engine
  • A WYSIWYG batch process designer
