Lap Keung will use ZWSOFT's ZW3D CAD/CAM solution to improve its luxury designs.

Founded in 1981, Lap Keung specializes in the manufacture of precision watch components, fashion accessories, and metal parts for leather-goods. The company's clients have extremely strict standards for their suppliers. In the past, Lap Keung was mainly engaged in 2D CAD design with the supplement of 3D software only for complex modeling.

In 2011, Lap Keung started using ZW3D on a trail basis. This year, the company purchased ZW3D Professional for more advanced 3D modeling at quarter the cost of its existing software, which enabled Lap Keung to cost-effectively achieve the transition from traditional 2D drafting to advanced 3D modeling, the company says.

"When designing watch cases, chains and other hardware fittings, we frequently use surface modeling," said Mr. Liu, design department engineer at Lap Keung. "The powerful surface modeling of ZW3D is easy to use. In comparison with other mainstream software, it brings greater convenience and efficiency to our daily work with clear navigation and parametric features."
