Since the release of Rhino4 in Spring of 2007, MadCAM (Romakloster, Sweden) has been developing a new version of madCAM to optimize the integration of new CNC tools with Rhino’s improved modeling functions. The company says it is building on the success of MadCAM for Rhino V3.

To satisfy the demand for more sophisticated machine control, the company has introduced re-machining and 5-axis functions to its 3-axis software.

The software has been developed within its mold-making division, ensuring that MadCAM achieves control and machining quality.

The Entry Level 3-axis version ($695 to use with your copy of Rhino V4) is for toolmakers, pattern makers, mold makers, wood machinists, and sculptors who will find our 3-axis version sufficient for their needs. With the entry level version you will be able to achieve: 2.5D machining, drilling, 3D roughing, 3D Z-level and planar finishing, 3D curve milling and engraving, 3D material removal cut simulator, and more.

The Expert Level 5-axis version ($1995 to use with your copy of Rhino V4) offers re-machining and indexed 5-axis control for use with an indexed machine table. This version will achieve all of the 3-axis function above and additionally enable full 2D and 3D indexed machining in the round using an 5 axis machine, 4-axis parallel finishing, automatic re-machining to optimize cutting detailed areas were required.

MadCAM includes most popular postprocessors including standard ISO g-code, Heidenhain, Fanuc, Haas, Siemens, Prototrak, Roland, Mach 2 and Mach 3, or MadCAM will write one specifically to let you evaluate the software.

Rhino and MadCAM can also be bought together: Entry-level MadCAM and Rhino 4 is $1595 and expert level MadCAM and Rhino 4 is $2495.
