Maplesoft (Waterloo, Canada) added the Grid Computing Toolbox to the Maple Professional Toolbox Series, which provides domain-specific tools that focus the core Maplesoft products on discipline-specific applications.

The Grid Computing Toolbox enables distributed computing using Maple, the primary tool for engineers, to solve complex mathematical problems and create rich technical documents.

Using the new Toolbox, users can run Maple computations in parallel, taking advantage of all the hardware resources available, cutting down on processing time, and enabling applications not previously possible.

Easy to set up, users start a server process on each machine on a network and the grid will self-assemble as each node automatically detects other nodes that are present. It also integrates into existing job scheduling systems.

Maple solves complex mathematical problems and creates technical documents; Maple Toolbox for MATLAB seamlessly integrates Maple; BlockBuilder for Simulink integrates Maple into an existing Simulink environment; BlockImporter for Simulink lets you import a Simulink model into Maple and convert it to a set of mathematical equations; and MapleNet allows users to publish live Maple documents on the Web.
