Meggitt Sensing Systems, a Meggitt group division, has introduced the Endevco model 7240C, a miniature piezoelectric accelerometer with low bandwidth flat to 30 kHz, expressly designed for general purpose high-frequency vibration measurements.

Featuring a lightweight sensor design that the company says allows for high seismic resonance and ruggedness within the same package, Endevco model 7240C offers low base strain sensitivity and good output stability over time, with a total package weight of just 4.8 grams. The unit is hermetically sealed to prevent against environmental contamination and is a self-generating device, which requires no external power source for operation.

Signal ground of the Endevco model 7240C is connected to the outer case of the unit. When used with one of the supplied isolated mounting studs, the accelerometer is electrically isolated from ground. A specially designed low-noise coaxial cable is also supplied for error-free operation.
