mental images (San Francisco, CA), provider of rendering software and visualization tools, unveiled RealityServer 2.2, the server-based, highly scalable 3D web application and services platform available to developers and system integrators. The new version is geared towards providers of 3D web application services, including Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solutions.

RealityServer software platform allows users to create and deploy 3D interactive web services and applications across disciplines including aerospace, automotive, architecture, product design, product showcasing, and product configuration. Suited for geographically dispersed collaboration, RealityServer enables real-time viewing and interaction with high image quality across the web without the need for downloads or client side viewer applications.

Unlike client-based 3D solutions, RealityServer software platform maintains and processes original content securely on the server — streaming in response to the user's choice, allowing the user to interact with the largest of datasets from any remote location. Since the content remains secure on the server, it frees the client from the need for plug-ins, client-side applications, additional storage, memory, CPU or GPU demands. This provides unlimited scalability as the user base grows.

RealityServer software platform can produce a full image quality spectrum via its multiple rendering options.
