Mentor Graphics Updates HyperLynx

By DE Editors

April 4, 2016

Mentor Graphics has updated HyperLynx to include simulation and analysis tools for printed circuit boards (PCBs).

The HyperLynx tool offers 2D/3D signal and power integrity analysis in a single application, with one GUI. Users can now simulate a critical SERDES channel and then switch to analysis of a large power net’s decoupling by simply selecting from a single new menu, the company states. The software is also able to produce simulations via a geometry extraction engine and advanced material modeling.

Having SERDES technology, the company states, lets users ensure signal and power structure geometries are passed; electromagnetic ports are formed, simulations are run; and S-parameters results are incorporated automatically into the time-domain simulations.

“This version of HyperLynx is the culmination of intensive investment by Mentor in its high-speed tools,” said A.J. Incorvaia, vice president and general manager of Mentor Graphics Systems Design Division. “HyperLynx has long been a widely used high-speed tool in the industry; now it’s become the most powerful and best integrated.”
