meviy, an on-demand custom parts manufacturing service developed by MISUMI Group, Inc. reports the addition of five new materials for CNC milling. The new lineup includes 1045 Carbon Steel and four new copper and brass materials.

Newly Added Materials

  • 1045 Carbon Steel
  • Copper C1020 (Oxygen-Free)
  • Copper C1100 (Tough Pitch)
  • Brass C2801P
  • Brass C3604-LCd

The new materials support a range of engineering applications, from electrical and thermal components to precision mechanical structures and plumbing systems, meviy reports. The addition of copper and brass materials is beneficial for manufacturers in the electrical, semiconductor, and EV industries, meviy adds.

Material Highlights

1045 Carbon Steel
A widely used steel for mechanical structures, offering strength and durability for parts such as pulleys, gears, brackets, and frames, meviy reports. Wear resistance and hardness can be improved through heat treatment or quenching. As it is prone to rust, anti-rust treatments such as black oxide are often recommended.

Copper C1020 (Oxygen-Free)
A highly pure copper (99.96%+) with electrical and thermal conductivity, meviy reports. Ideal for electrodes, heat sinks, and cryogenic applications. It resists hydrogen brittleness, allowing use in hydrogen environments. Common applications include electrical connectors, bus bars, semiconductor components, and EV charging infrastructure.

Copper C1100 (Tough Pitch)
A 99.9% pure copper known for conductivity and cost efficiency. Commonly used for electrodes and heat sinks in hydrogen-free environments. Frequently selected for electrical and semiconductor parts that demand conductivity at a more economical cost point.

Brass C2801P
A copper-zinc alloy offering corrosion resistance and mechanical strength. Its golden appearance and durability make it a popular choice for manifolds and plumbing components. This alloy is also used in precision fittings and connectors for electrical, semiconductor, and EV cooling systems.

Brass C3604-LCd
A free-cutting brass containing a small amount of lead, optimized for machinability and chip control, ideal for precision machined parts, manifolds, and fittings requiring both strength and corrosion resistance. Its ease of machining makes it suitable for detailed components in EV assemblies, electrical terminals, and semiconductor tooling.
