Moldflow Corporation(Framingham, MA) announced the availability of Moldflow Plastics Xpert(MPX) 4.2, a patented system for automating the setup, optimization, and control of the plastics injection molding process.

The company reports that enhancements to MPX 4.2 include new reporting functions, numerouscustomer-driven features, and tighter integration with Moldflowsimulation solutions. These changes allow users to explicitly documentMPX processes, speed the setup process by fixing more than one defectat a time, and better share critical design optimization data betweenthe design and manufacturing environments.

Some of those features include better parts traceability through thesupply chain, shortened setup time because of MPX's ability to trackand eliminate more than one defect at a time, higher efficiency andpart quality, and a common operator interface used for Moldflow'sAltanium and Shotscope products to eliminate cost and clutter withinthe molding cell.
