MTI Systems announced the release of Costimator version 12. According to the company, the new release includes updates that improve speed, accuracy and consistency for cost estimating, as well as a new layer of specialized features for machining and fabrication.
The updated material wizard allows users to account for material drop (scrap), minimum lot charges and surcharges. New and updated cost models include Painting, Routing, Cycle Time Complete, Water jet, Laser, Shearing, End Facing, and Surface Work.
The solution now offers an automatic attachment feature to any detail connected to a work center. Examples now include cost models, tools, assemblies, purchased items, and custom "on-the-fly" or miscellaneous entries.
SolidWorks users can instantly paste dimensional data into Costimator, saving time and reducing errors otherwise attributed to data entry misfortunes. New manufacturing labor rates have been added/updated to the work center database, offering OEMs new options to cost parts made in over 31 countries and nine regions in the United States.
Users can now import data into cost model tables, as well as complete parts, and the export utility provides additional reporting.
