IronCAD introduces the latest version of its fully integrated design module, Multiphysics for IronCAD 2020 (MPIC). The focus of the product is to help general CAD designers adopt design analysis earlier in the digital prototyping cycle. This update features several new and improved features for in-CAD design analysis.

New technology for tolerance assembly analysis uses discrete boundary surface facets to smartly unite parts together for design analysis. This allows for the healing of CAD assembly models—whether the gaps are intentional or not—so they can be glued together for quick design analysis.

A new drag-and-drop user interface has been added to three sections: Part tree of materials; boundary condition constraints; and load areas. Users can select the part’s tree node and drag it to a different material tree to assign it to a different material. In boundary conditions constraints and loading, the sequence of the priority of the constraint can be changed by selecting the condition and dragging it up or down to change the priority of the boundary condition.

Multiphysics for IronCAD comes in basic to advanced versions that include non-linear, fluid, dynamics and rigid body kinematics. Once installed, users have access to the full functionality limited to 2,000 mesh nodes that can be used to begin the analysis application. MPIC is built with technology partners AMPS Technology and Simmetrix.
