Shunra (New York) reports that in a recent Aberdeen Group (Boston, MA) study, "The Real Value of Network Visibility," data showed that 100 percent of best-in-class organizations are accomplishing their business goals by taking some action prior to new application deployments, including 64 percent of organizations deploying network simulation that reported improvements in availability of business-critical applications.

Plus, organizations using network simulation solutions were found to be 37 percent more likely to improve application response times as compared to all others. And, one-quarter of the study's respondents reported that they plan to start using a simulated network environment for pre-deployment testing in the near future.

According to Bojan Simic, Aberdeen Research Analyst who conducted the study, "Forward-thinking organizations are taking proactive control of their enterprise infrastructures predominantly because they understand the impact that effective network and applications management has on profitability and growth."

Shunra reports that the Aberdeen study found that best-in-class organizations are 35 percent more likely to use WAN emulation tools, in a pre-deployment lab environment, to predict application performance before roll-out.

Shunra says its Shunra Virtual Enterprise is a network simulation solution that creates a virtual network environment in the pre-deployment network lab. It delivers a flexible and easy way to test the performance of applications and network equipment under a variety of network impairments — just as if they were running in a real production environment. Helping organizations understand the impact of new technology rollouts on network and application performance, Shunra Virtual Enterprise helps resolve related issues before they impact end-users.
