New 2DFlow from DynaFlow

Company releases new simulation and visualization tool for potential flow.

DynaFlow has released 2DFlow, a program for visualizing flows induced by the distributions of point and line singularities such as vortices, dipoles and sources. It graphically illustrates the use of potential flow theory through a combination of background fluid flow and a variety of singularities to simulate a wide range of fluid mechanics problems (e.g., flow past cylinders, rankine bodies, hydrofoils, bluff bodies, etc.). The solution has a graphical user interface with easy access to its commonly used functions and features. 

Features include point-and-click singularity insertion and editing, and solid boundaries and objects of arbitrary shapes can be inserted in the flow. Users can study internal as well as external flows.

It includes problem simulation that allows the user to compute and view Flow-Trajectories, Equipotential-Lines, Stream-Lines, Pressures and Velocity Vectors using full-color contours, iso-quantity lines and trajectories. It provides circulation and force computation along a user-defined elliptical or rectangular area and flux computation along a user-defined line. 

The solution also provides interactive animation of the flow-field using scalar particle distributions and allowing motion of inserted vortices.
