ZWCAD Software Co., Ltd. (Guangzhou, People's Republic of China) announces ZWCAD 2008 Beta, the newest version of its DWG-based tool for 2D/3D drafting. ZWCAD 2008 Beta delivers new features for improved flexibility and efficiency, and is said to offer the power of AutoCAD at an affordable price.

Built on IntelliCAD 6 and based on the OpenDWG technology, ZWCAD 2008 Beta lets users open, edit, and save DWG/DXF files created in Autodesk AutoCAD (2.5 to 2008) without the need for import or export operations. Because there is no file conversion, there is no data loss. With the same ease, the users of AutoCAD can open the files created in ZWCAD. The interface of the program, with all its cursors, toolbars and menus, meets the standards of AutoCAD. The software, which runs on Windows 2000, XP, and Vista, is aimed at architects, consultants, engineers, and teachers.

Some new features include enhanced speed in opening or saving drawings, creating a hatch with complex boundaries, and editing in viewports. Users can select from objects that let them spend less time on drafting and more on design.

A new arithmetic applied to search complex hatch boundaries ensures less calculation and faster response even when there are many complicated objects used. Unlocked boundaries in some diseased drawings are recognized automatically.

The program enables extraction of the attribute information into an external file if the attributes have been attached to blocks. Attribute extraction is a practical function to produce a schedule or bill of materials directly from the blocks in a drawing.

With the new DRX programming interface, users can develop applications in other ways, making migration of ARX application possible. Plus, there is Visual lisp Support and lisp Encrypt.

For other important changes in ZWCAD 2008, go to ZWCAD Software Co., Ltd.
