Online 3D Model Sharing Service

Vispower Technology has announced a free, online 3D model sharing and visualization service, 3Dfile.io (BETA), which now supports online 2D DWG and DXF visualization using the Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) Web standard, along with an easy-to-use markup tool.

"The new 2D DWG format support and the collaborative markup ability were born in response to beta user demand. Our goal with 3Dfile.io has been to provide the simplest way to share CAD and 3D models online for designers and engineers, and 2D CAD users can not be left out," said CEO Simon Bae. "In lots of cases, engineers still rely both on 2D and 3D data to complete design projects. Super-simple 3D file sharing is dramatically supplemented by super-simple 2D drawing sharing."

2D DWG and DXF vector drawings are supported on all major platforms, including PC, Mac, Android OS and iOS (iPad/iPhone). Users can now upload 2D drawing files, as well as part and assembly files using. A link to the uploaded files is instantly created and can be shared with anyone. Visitors can view the uploaded 2D and 3D CAD online directly in their Web browser.

3D CAD supported in 3Dfile.io includes native CAD formats such as Inventor, SolidWorks, Pro/E (Creo), NX and CATIA, as well as non-native formats such as a IGES, STEP, JT, STL and OBJ.
