OriginLab, a provider of data analysis and graphing software, has released Origin and OriginPro 2015. This release adds more than 100 new features, including several ease-of-use enhancements from customers.

Key updates include collapsible menus, project file search for string, thumbnail previews of graphs and tooltips displaying folder and an improved graph legend with support for bubble scales.

Users also have access to new graphs such as heat mapping and 3D kernel density plots, 3D batch plotting, user-defined ordering of categorical data, repeated measures ANOVA with unbalanced data. The Python scripting language is now supported with Origin 2015.

“Besides new features such as Python scripting support which will satisfy many researchers and engineers, OriginLab has put special effort into improving usability in Origin 2015," said Antoine Couturier, research engineer at the National Institute for Sports, Paris. "An entirely redesigned axis dialog makes axis customization easy, while also providing extended functionality. Thumbnail previews of graphs in Project Explorer, and the ability to now search the project to find any metadata associated with various objects, simplifies working with large projects.”
