The Scyld Cloud Workstation features NVIDIA GRID technology and, according to the company, offers significant time savings by eliminating the need for downloading large data files and moving pre- and post-processing to the cloud. The workstation provides accelerated 3D performance from a remote server displayed directly into a standard browser, removing the third-party client and potential security breaches.
The use of NVIDIA GRID technologies allows visually-demanding applications to run either on-premise or cloud-based virtualized servers.
“With NVIDIA GRID technology accelerating the streaming of remote 3D content, Scyld Cloud Workstation delivers a visual computing experience that demanding users require to complete their supercomputing analysis,” said Andrew Cresci, general manager of NVIDIA GRID at NVIDIA. “Output visualization is an important element of high performance computing, and doing this visualization from the data center is the most efficient way to get to an answer quickly.”
