PROSTEP AG has entered a partnership with Elysium to increase CAD interoperability. With this collaboration, the companies will provide users geometry as well as data translation through OpenDESC.com. This makes it possible to process translated data in all current CAD system and return them to the production system with the same editing capabilities, the company states.

PROSTEP plans to fully integrate the Elysium tools in OpenDESC.com to automate translation features and parametric information. This agreement also expands both companies' service range for data migration and development technology.

"The conversion of features and parametric information is a highly complex issue,” says Ken Tashiro, vice president and chief operating officer of Elysium. "PROSTEP has the necessary translation expertise with much experience and, thus, can make optimum use of the capability of our solutions for the user’s benefit."
