Electro Standards Laboratories (ESL; Cranston, RI) announced its new Model 7344 Cat5, RJ45, 100-Base-T, AB Switch, a network switch that allows users to connect a workstation or device between two other devices or networks. All pins of the RJ45 Interface are switched and meet Category 5 performance. The switch ports are also transparent to all data.

Model 7344 uses an enhanced Supervisory RS232 Serial Port for secure, password protection to remotely monitor and control the switch. A terminal or a computer in terminal mode connected to this port can communicate with the unit, determine its status, change the switch position as desired, and/or lockout front panel switching capability. Local control is also available via front panel pushbutton.

This reliable data switch is available in a rackmount unit or in Model 4421 for desktop configuration.
